Its been ten years and countless DLCs since the release of Payday 2, including strong debates in the community on the introduction of microtransactions. However: Starbreeze’s Announcement of the third episode in its Payday Franchise send a small shockwave through the gaming community.
It all began with the groundbreaking success of Payday: The Heist, a game that redefined cooperative gaming. Players, united by a common purpose, executed meticulously planned heists, battling waves of law enforcement. Payday 2 took this formula to new heights, evolving into a cult classic and earning a dedicated fan base.
Ten Years since the Release of Payday 2
Ten years later, the revelation is coming closer: Payday 3 is on the horizon. The announcement trailer, a tantalizing glimpse into the world of neon-lit streets and high-octane escapes, left fans hungry for more. Developer Diaries promised a game that will not only exceed expectations but shatter them. Having an iconic Rapstar as Ice-T as a character in the game (he embodies a building contractor called Mac) pushed the Hype even more.
Cooperative play had always been at the heart of the Payday series. Payday 3 takes this to a whole new level. Teams of skilled heisters will need to rely on each other more than ever, combining unique abilities and tactics for the perfect score. Additional to the known Crew, two female members will join the clowns: Pearl & Joy.
Payday 3 will be available for PC Digital, Playstation and XBOX X/S first, even being available for Gamepass Subscribers from the day of its Release on Sept 21st. The Development for all platforms became possible by a change to the widely known Unreal-Engine.
Last open beta between Sept 8th and 11th
Developers asked the community to “destroy the servers” in an open beta, which can be accessed via the Payday 3 Page on a major game platform for PC Digital or users of the XBOX Insider Hub App. If you look for the actual release: Allyouplay has Payday 3 available for you in the Standard, Silver and Gold edition.
Four Major DLCs are announced already
Even before the release on September 23, Developers have announced a plan for major DLCs to come until 2024. “Syntax Error” will arrive in Winter of this year, being ready for the Christmas season. “Boys in Blue”, “Land of the Free”, and “Fear and Greed” will follow in Spring, Summer and Fall 2024.
